““Mr. Humble and his staff are very professional! I would recommend him for anyone who needs a lawyer in this area.”

John K.

At a bankruptcy, there is more than one trustee. No matter what, there are at least two trustees on a case. You’ve got the US Trustee, who is the policeman of the system. They are going to review your case and make sure that there’s no fraud or that your income was reported correctly.

Their questions are similar to our questions. The only difference is you’re going to need your social security card and driver’s license or ID when you see the trustee, and they’re going to swear you in and tape record the conversation. It’ll take somewhere around 10-15 minutes on a standard case. Then you’re actually done. On a Chapter 13, we go in front of a judge. On a Chapter 7, you’re all done with the court and your case will be discharged technically in 60 days.
